First mention on Rivals: Warren's name first popped up on the Rivals radar in June of 2015, just after the end of his sophomore season, when he received his first scholarship offer from Rutgers. Just a few months later, Warren's name made its debut on Panther-Lair when Pitt offered the standout tackle in October of 2015.

Warren commits to Pitt: Carter Warren committed to Pitt a little over a year after receiving his offer from the Panthers, choosing Pitt over offers from schools like Penn State, Michigan State, Michigan, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, and others. He was the 15th commitment for Pitt in the 2017 class and the third offensive lineman.

In his words: “It just came down to the great player connections I had at Pitt and feeling comfortable. I had great player connections and it’s a great family environment at the University of Pittsburgh. I already felt like I was a part of the team when I was getting recruited,” Warren said. “You know, I grew up with both of my parents supporting me my whole life and I wanted to find that family environment in college and Pitt was it.”

Warren's impact: "At the end of the day, Warren is a big-bodied and physically dominant offensive tackle who has the athletic ability, length, and size to stay at the left tackle position in college. He’s technically proficient, albeit with room to improve and grow. Warren is a New Jersey state champion and a player who has been the engine of his team’s offensive line for quite some time. He’ll have the chance to compete for a spot on Pitt’s two-deep from the jump when he arrives on campus." Read more from the Film Room Friday breakdown of Carter Warren.

From the coach: "I personally feel that Carter has the ability to determine how far his career is going to go. He is one of those guys that has the ability to play past college. His size his for one gives him that and his ability to move at that size is another thing. How far Carter goes will be how far Carter wants to go," said Passaic Tech head coach Matt Demarest. "He talks like he wants to go professional, but a lot of guys talk about playing in the pro ranks. Now we’ll see the transition. He’ll go from the big dog in high school – no matter where he played, he’d be one of the biggest kids on the team – to a college team that has a lot of guys that are big and fast. He’ll have to step his game up and if he does, I think he’ll definitely play at the next level. He definitely has the ability and it’s all up to him how far he wants to take it. I think he chose a great place with that coaching staff. There’s a lot of places that could bring that [ability] out of him and this is one of those schools that’s definitely going to bring the most out of him."
