The Pitt football team is officially in the offseason, and that means there are holes that officially needs to be filled. The Panthers lose quite a bit from this season’s team, and while the replacements will come from Pat Narduzzi’s recruiting efforts more often than not, there will be quite a few unproven players counted on to contribute in 2017.
Here’s a look at the vacancies on offense - and who could fill them.
QUARTERBACK
This is the big one. Nate Peterman developed from solid to very good in his two years as a starter at Pitt, and his 2016 performance was quietly one of the strengths of the team.
Now the new offensive coordinator will have to find a new starter at quarterback, and unlike in previous years, experience won’t be a factor since the top options to start at quarterback have very little.
