Pitt tight end commit Matt Alaimo once again led Montvale (N.J.) powerhouse St. Joseph's Regional in receptions during week two of their season. Alaimo notched five catches for 45 yards against another powerhouse on the Atlantic coast, Washington (D.C.) St. John's College. Unfortunately for Alaimo, this result came in a losing effort as St. Joseph's fell to St. John's by a score of 42-25. They now have a 1-1 record on the year.

In their first game of the season, Scranton (Pa.)'s Lackawanna Community College and Pitt offensive tackle commit Chase Brown defeated Hudson Valley Community College handily, coming out on top by a score of 47-15. Check out his highlights from the game below:

Jefferson Hills (Pa.) Thomas Jefferson is off to their usual hot start. The perennial WPIAL powerhouse defeated Washington (Pa.) Trinity in a shutout beatdown, blanking the Hillers and winning 35-0, improving to 2-0. After missing week one, Danielson returned and pitched in on the shutout at defensive tackle, recording three tackles.

Richmond (Va.) Benedictine School linebacker Wendell Davis will be a key part of Pitt's defensive recruiting class and played exceedingly well on a Friday night victory. Davis and his teammates stomped Alexandria (Va.) Bishop Ireton by a score of 34-0, improving to a perfect 2-0 record. Davis notched two sacks, three tackles for a loss, and nine tackles in the shutout victory. Check out Davis' highlights from the victory:

Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic improved to 2-1 on their season with their second straight WPIAL victory. The Vikings defeated the Wexford (Pa.) North Allegheny Tigers by a score of 14-7 on the road. Stats are not available from the Central Catholic victory.

After a tough opening weekend loss to division opponent Penn Hills on the road, Butler (Pa.) two-way lineman and Pitt offensive line commit Jake Kradel earned a 45-28 victory over Altoona (Pa.) at home. The Golden Tornadoes improved to 1-1 with their victory as Kradel dominated on both sides of the football. The future offensive guard paved the way for the rushing game, collecting six pancake blocks throughout the night. On defense, he had a forced fumble, a pass deflection, and four tackles. Check out Kradel's highlights from the game below:

For the second straight week, Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic's defense and Pitt defensive end commit John Morgan pitched a shutout and earned a resounding victory. DeMatha defeated Reistertown (Md.) Franklin 36-0 to improve to 2-1 on the season. While official defensive stats (where Morgan's main contributions are) are not available for the game, Morgan did catch a 25-yard touchdown on his lone reception from the tight end position. Check out Morgan's highlights from the game below:

After two dominant victories to open the season, Phenix City (Ala.) Glenwood and Pitt wide receiver commit Cameron O'Neil dropped their first game of the season in a heart-breaker. Auburn (Ala.) Lee-Scott Academy defeated Glenwood 36-35 in week three, manufacturing a 22-point fourth-quarter comeback. O'Neil was dominant in the loss, scoring three receiving touchdowns from 44, 35, and 14 yards out each. Check out his highlight video from the game below:

Jefferson Hills (Pa.) Thomas Jefferson is off to their usual hot start. The perennial WPIAL powerhouse defeated Washington (Pa.) Trinity in a shutout beatdown, blanking the Hillers and winning 35-0, improving to 2-0. Pitt defensive end commit lined up alongside the aforementioned Danielson on the Jaguars' defense, making three tackles of his own. Palmer also added one catch for 14 yards in his role as a tight end for the Jaguars.

As noted above, Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph's Regional and Pitt commits Matt Alaimo and Nick Patti fell 42-25 in a road loss to Washington (D.C.) St. John's College. Patti dueled against former Pitt target Kevin Doyle, throwing 14 completions on 26 attempts for 174 yards. Patti struggled in the game, throwing three interceptions and fumbling once. Patti did, however, add two rushing touchdowns and 32 yards on the ground on 10 rushing attempts. Doyle threw for 350 yards and two touchdowns in the St. John's victory, dropping St. Joseph's to 1-1.

The season starts in earnest next week for Jay Symonds and his Cambridge (Mass.) Buckingham, Browne, and Nichols teammates, but Symonds was able to get in some work in a live scrimmage. Symonds, who's committed to Pitt as an H-back, hauled in five catches for 77 yards in his first taste of real action.

For the second straight week, Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic's defense and Pitt defensive back commit Judson Tallandier pitched a shutout and earned a resounding victory. DeMatha defeated Reistertown (Md.) Franklin 36-0 to improve to 2-1 on the season. Tallandier recorded five tackles on the day, but says he was limited in coverage opportunities because the opposing quarterback only threw to his side once all game.

With Hurricane Irma bearing down on southern Florida, Pitt defensive back commit Marquis Williams and his Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons teammates dealt with a game cancellation on Friday night. While Williams said he and his family are okay and have faced no serious damage from the storm, he's eager to get back on the field. Cardinal Gibbons remains 2-0 and awaits the return of Friday night action, which may not happen this weekend either. In the mean time, check out Williams' highlights from the first two games:

Another week and another easy win for the Belle Vernon Area (Pa.) Leopards and Pitt offensive tackle commit Blake Zubovic. This week, Zubovic and his teammates took on and whooped the Uniontown (Pa.) Red Raiders by a score of 49-2. Belle Vernon now sits at 2-0 after two games. Zubovic only played 20 reps on each side of the ball in the blowout, but says he recorded six pancake blocks, six tackles, and a tackle for a loss.
