Pitt commits Matt Alaimo and Nick Patti saw their senior seasons end on Saturday afternoon, coming up just short of a repeat state championship in New Jersey's gauntlet private league schedule. Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph's fell to Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic by a final tally of 7-3, with the entirety of the game's scoring coming in the second quarter. Late in the fourth quarter, Patti and Alaimo helped to rally a near-comeback on the Green Knights' final drive. Patti helped to extend the drive with two key plays - a 25-yard scramble on third-and-22 and an eight-yard pass to Alaimo on fourth-and-three. However, St. Joseph's would not see the ball after that drive. A goal line fumble by Evan Stewart, a Boston College commit, was recovered by DePaul and ended St. Joseph's chance at a repeat as the Spartans ran out the clock.

DePaul Catholic featured former Pitt recruit and current Boston College commit Vinny DePalma leading their defense, as well as 2019 Penn State quarterback commit Taquan Roberson and other Division I prospects.
