Taglianetti out for the season with torn ACL
PITTSBURGH-University of Pittsburgh sophomore safety Andrew Taglianetti will miss the balance of the season after sustaining a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Pitt's 54-27 victory at Buffalo this past Saturday.
Taglianetti (Bridgeville, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic), who is a candidate for a medical redshirt, will undergo surgery in the near future.

"Our entire team is very disappointed for Andrew," Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt said. "He is an important performer on and off the field for us. The silver lining is he can receive a medical redshirt."
Taglianetti started both games at free safety this year and compiled four tackles and a fumble recovery.
