Stallings lands a JUCO guard

Kevin Stallings landed commit No. 2 to the 2018 recruiting class on Friday when junior-college guard Danya Kingsby committed to Pitt.

Kingsby, 6'1" and 165 pounds, is a native of Milwaukee who averaged 22.5 points per game as a senior at Hamilton High School. After graduating, he went to Arlington Country Day Prep for a year before enrolling at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls.

Kingsby is a sophomore for the Golden Eagles this season. Last year, he was the team's second-leading scorer; despite coming off the bench in 23 of CSI's 33 games, he averaged 11.4 points per game while shooting 49.8% from the floor and 41.7% from beyond the arc. He was also second on the team in assists and third in steals.

Kingsby finished the 2016-17 season on a tear, averaging 20 points per game over the final five contests.

In addition to Pitt, Kingsby had offers from Texas A&M, UNLV, Tulsa, Buffalo, Florida Gulf Coast, UC-Santa Barbara and Grand Canyon. He is the second recruit to commit to Pitt in the 2018 class, joining forward Bryce Golden.
