Pitt lands NJ ATH

Pitt added another recruit to the 2016 recruiting class Thursday night when New Jersey athlete Maurice Ffrench gave a verbal commitment to the Panthers.
Ffrench earned his offer after working out for the coaches at a prospect camp earlier this month. At the time he said that Pitt was already one of his top two schools - even before the Panthers offered.

"I just like their coaching staff," he told Panther-Lair.com. "I have a good relationship with all of them. Even without an offer I felt like I was already going there. I went for an unofficial visit and they made me feel like I was a part of the team. The running back, James Conner, and the wide receiver, Tyler Boyd...I was in a wide receivers' meeting with Tyler Boyd. They treated me like I was already one of them."
Ffrench, 5'11" 179, worked out at both receiver and cornerback at Pitt's camp. He could play either position in college.
With Ffrench on board, Pitt now has commitments from seven recruits in the class of 2016. The Panthers also added Bedford (Oh.) running back Chawntez Moss and Williamsburg (Va.) Lafayette linebacker Chase Pine this week, joining Upper St. Clair offensive lineman Brandon Ford, Central Catholic safety Bricen Garner, Cincinnati (Oh.) Moeller quarterback Thomas MacVittie and Lakewood (Oh.) St. Edward defensive back Tony Butler.
