Pitt lands four-star RB Yasin Willis

Pitt just secured a commitment from Yasin Willis, a four-star running back out of New Jersey. Willis checks in at 6'1" and 218-pounds and attends St. Joseph's Regional in Montvale. He is the top-ranked recruit in the state of New Jersey according to Rivals, and is the No. 187 recruit overall.

Willis took official visits to Pitt and Rutgers, seemingly his two finalists, but did make a trip to Alabama in June as the Crimson Tide offered and showed significant interest. Willis' other offers include Louisville, Michigan, Ole Miss, Penn State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and more.

As a junior Willis rushed for 1,133 yards and 17 touchdowns in 11 games for St. Joseph's, the same high school which produced former Pitt quarterback Nick Patti. He also rushed for over 1,000 yards as a sophomore as well.

Willis made his official visit to Pitt back on June 8th, and committed around then, but has held his decision quiet until announcing it publicly tonight. He becomes the 4th four-star recruit in the class. Willis is also now Pitt's highest rated recruit and joins other four-stars DayDay Farmer, Cameron Lindsey, and Jahsear Whittington. The last time Pitt had at least 4 four-star recruit in one recruiting class was back in 2016, which was Pat Narduzzi's first full class and it was headlined by Damar Hamlin.

Willis is also the second running back in the 2024 recruiting class, joining three-star Juelz Goff out of Pennsylvania. The Panthers also signed a pair of running backs in the class of 2023 as well as it appears they are looking for a youth movement at the position.

The Panthers now have 21 recruits in the class of 2024, with one outstanding 'Pat Signal' still unaccounted for at this time.
