Pitt lands 2021 OL Kyle Fugedi

Pitt landed its second commitment in as many days as Livonia (MI) offensive linemen Kyle Fugedi pledged to Pitt. He follows up the commitment of Pennsylvania tight end Gavin Bartholomew yesterday and brings the total number of commitments to 22 for the class of 2021.

Fugedi checks in at 6'6" and 263-pounds and stars for Franklin High School and helped his team to a 5-5 record this season. The new Panthers' commit should bring some athleticism to the position as he is a two-sport athlete, as he is also a hockey player.

Fugedi was committed to Miami (OH) for eight months, but an offer from Pitt on November 2nd led to him opening up his recruitment on November 27th, before he ultimatley deciding to commit to Pitt this evening.

The Michigan standout also held offers from Kentucky and Indiana early on in the recruiting process, and was recently being pursued by Minnesota as well. He spoke to Josh Helmholdt of Rivals.com about his recent contact with Pitt.

“Once I got the offer from Pitt I wanted to keep looking into it and see what they had to offer,” Fugedi said. “I really like the coaches there a lot. They were very honest with me, told me what could happen and told me what to fix on my film."

Fugedi becomes the sixth offensive linemen to commit to Pitt in the class of 2021. He joins fellow linemen Trey Andersen, Terrence Enos, Marco Fugar, Brandon Honorable, and Terrence Rankl. He is also the third player from the state of Michigan in this class, as Honorable and Enos also hail from Michigan.
