Pitt gets a commitment from DT Amir Watts

Pitt added a huge piece to the 2016 recruiting class Sunday night when four-star defensive tackle Amir Watts committed to the Panthers.

Watts took an official visit to Pitt over the weekend and picked the Panthers over offers from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Miami (OH), New Mexico, Southern Illinois, Temple, Toledo, Western Kentucky and Western Michigan.

A four-star prospect, Watts is ranked as the No. 25 defensive tackle recruit in the country. He is the third interior defensive lineman to commit to Pitt in the recruiting class of 2016, joining Central Catholic's Rashad Wheeler and Akron (Oh.) Coventry's Bryce Hargrove.
