Pitt gets a big commit on the OL

Justin Morgan knew that he felt pretty strongly about Pitt after taking an official visit this weekend.
On Monday, he made it official with a tweet that he had switched his commitment from Rutgers to Pitt.

"My family felt great about Pitt and my mom really liked the school, and like I said before, the environment and everything there, I just feel like I fit in," Morgan told Panther-Lair.com Monday evening.
"The people there are good people. That was a big part of it. They made me feel right at home and interacted with me a lot. They made me feel like I had been there, like they knew me my whole life."
The 6'7" 335-pound offensive tackle prospect from Brooklyn (NY) Poly Prep committed to Rutgers in June, but he visited Pitt once during the summer and again for the Panthers' regular-season finale against Miami last month. Morgan's official visit this past weekend was the next step and, it turns out, the final step in his transition from Rutgers commit to Pitt commit.
"I was confident about going to Rutgers, then I went to Pitt and they showed a lot of love," Morgan said. "The coaching change (at Rutgers) made it a little bit easier, too. Now that they cleared out the whole staff, I'm not really going to feel comfortable with anyone there.
"It would be a little tougher to switch if they were still there. But I knew on my visit that I wanted to go to Pitt, and after speaking with my mother and my family members, I really realized it was right for me."
And so, on Monday night, Morgan called Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi to deliver the news.
"He was excited for me," Morgan said. "He was in his car and he started yelling. He got excited.
"I feel really confident in where this program is going. Their losses were to good teams in close games, not blowout games, and if a few little things change, they could have won those games and I can definitely see them playing for a championship."
Morgan said he connected on his visit with Upper St. Clair offensive lineman Brandon Ford, who committed to Pitt in the spring, and Citra (Fla.) North Marion offensive lineman Zack Williams, who committed to Pitt on Sunday morning. Morgan also said that his relationship with offensive line coach John Peterson was a strong reason for his switch to Pitt.
"He's a really good guy, energetic and down to earth," Morgan said. "You can go to him and sit down and talk about anything; that's what I like about him. You can't do that with other coaches."
Morgan is the third offensive line prospect to commit to Pitt in the class of 2016, joining Ford and Williams. And he is the second Rutgers commitment to flip to Pitt; South Brunswick (NJ) safety Phil Campbell made the same flip at the end of his official visit on Sunday.
In total, Pitt now has commitments from 16 recruits in the class of 2016.
