Palmer and Green make Big 33

Pitt will have two representatives on the 2018 PSFCA Big 33 Football Classic’s Pennsylvania roster, and both will be on the defensive line,

Thomas Jefferson defensive end Noah Palmer and Central Catholic defensive tackle David Green were both selected for the annual all-star game, which pits Pennsylvania’s best against the best from Maryland.

This year’s game will be held on June 16 at Central Dauphin’s Landis Field in Harrisburg.

As a senior for the Jaguars last fall, Palmer recorded four sacks, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery on defense while also catching four touchdown passes on offense. Meanwhile, Green was a three-year starter for the always-stacked Central Catholic Vikings and was an all-state selection in Class 6A.

2018 marks the second year in a row that Pitt has had just two players on the Pennsylvania roster. Last year, Liberty receiver Darian Street and Upper St. Clair offensive lineman Gabe Houy both made the team. The previous year, Pitt had seven representatives on the Pennsylvania roster.

With Palmer and Green joining the team this summer, Pitt’s 2018 roster is projected to have 15 former Big 33 participants.
