There really is just one rule, use common sense

consistently.  However, the following items are board specific.

There are a few general rules that apply to all the Pantherlair message forums:

1).  Posting of unauthorized copyrighted material such as

articles from CNNSI, ESPN, etc.  If there is an article that you want people to read, post a link to it instead.

2).  Posts that contains vulgar, obscene or indecent language or images.

3).  Bigoted remarks.

4).  Unsubstantiated remarks solely for the purpose of degrading the team.

These are Pittsburgh boards.  We encourage any topics even if they are unpopular however, garbage is garbage and will be deleted as soon as it is seen.  Don't ask us to define garbage but we know it when we see it.  

Guests:  Pantherlair welcomes any and all fans to participate on our main football board.  Some of the best threads are when a sincere, informed fan wants to talk some football.  However, please be aware that we pride ourselves on good, clean and informative boards.  We do not tolerate garbage and

trash talking.  If you feel a need to trash our boards, we will delete you. If you repeatedly trash our boards, you may be blacklisted from participating on all of the Pantherlair message boards.  There will be no need to try and cry foul because Pitt fans

will always win.

psu vs Pitt:  We realize that even though psu is not our "rival" on the field anymore, they are, none the less, rivals in recruiting wars, therefore, Panther fans have

every right to discuss the goings on, be it good or bad, at gramps neighborhood.  We invite our opponents and "rivals" to respond but you are guests on this Pittsburgh board.  Any posts or responses that degrade, trash, or insult the Panthers will be gone as

soon as it is read by one of our monitors.  psu vs Pitt elicits a lot of emotions on both sides and this is why there is a separate board for this kind of talk.  If you feel a need to respond in a less than informed manner, do it on the Rivalry Battle Board.

In saying all that, we do encourage free flow of information but these boards are read by die hard Panther Fans, HS Recruits, Players, Coaches, Employees of the University of Pittsburgh, Fathers, Mothers, etc....we owe it to all these people to keep the boards Pittsburgh Panther Proud.

The football board is a Pitt board and will be treated as such.  

This is a "battle" board and therefore we are more tolerant of harsh, critical and/or garbage postings.  There are not to many situations where a post will be deleted.
