Linebacker Fleming suspended indefinitely

Redshirt junior linebacker Carl Fleming has been suspended indefinitely following an arrest earlier this weekend.
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Fleming was arrested in Oakland Friday night after he attempted to crash into a police vehicle when officers tried to stop him for a traffic violation. Fleming ended up crashing into a guard rail, at which point officers approached and saw him attempting to swallow a bag that authorities said contained marijuana, according to the report.

Officers then forcibly removed Fleming from his car and forcibly removed the bag from his mouth. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, fleeing or eluding police, drug possession, tampering with evidence and vehicular offenses. Fleming was taken to Allegheny County Jail and held on $10,000 bail.
Fleming, a redshirt junior from Reistertown (Md.), played in 12 games last season and four in 2010. He started against Louisville in 2011 and recorded his first career interception. He made a total of six tackles last year.
This spring, Fleming was working as the second-team strong-side linebacker.
