Kyle Fugedi breaks down his commitment to Pitt

Kyle Fugedi picked up an offer from Pitt in the beginning of November and one month later he finds himself committed to the Panthers program. The offensive linemen from Livonia (MI) was committed to Miami of Ohio for eight months, but the offer from Pitt really changed things for him. After de-committing and thinking it over for a few days, he figured why wait to make his decision, because his mind was made up already.

"I made my decision because I know that’s where I wanted to go," Fugedi told Panther-Lair.com following his commitment he announced over Twitter on Tuesday morning.

Fugedi had additional offers from Kentucky and Indiana early on in the process, and was also receiving recent interest from Minnesota, but Pitt is where he wanted to be, mainly because of the relationships he built with the Panthers' coaching staff.

"First of all the coaching staff was amazing," Fugedi said. "Every single one of those guys have a different meaning on how they make the program better. And coach (Dave) Borbely helped me see what my future could be like there at Pitt."

The early signing period for college football begins on December 18th, and Fugedi plans to sign his National Letter of Intent that day. He is not planning on enrolling early, however.

Fugedi had to make his decision without actually seeing Pitt in-person. He took some virtual tours of the campus and football facility, and those really caught his attention.

"What I saw from the virtual tours that stood out to me was the facilities they have," Fugedi said. "Sharing a building with the Steelers, and what programs they have within the facility are amazing."

Fugedi is an athletic offensive linemen, as he has a background playing hockey growing up in the state of Michigan. He said he currently checks in at 6'6" and 307-pounds. He is excited to get to Pitt and start his college career.

"I’m going be bringing my all, which means 110% effort every single day and always being my best."
