Pitt landed its 12th commitment of the 2017 class on Monday evening when Pittsburgh (Pa.) Upper St. Clair offensive tackle Gabe Houy announced his intentions to play college football for the Panthers. Houy is a 6-foot-6, 270-pound offensive lineman who should provide some versatility for Pitt with his ability to play outside at tackle or slide into guard if needed.

Houy is the second offensive lineman in Pitt's class, joining New Jersey native and interior lineman Owen Drexel in the trenches. Houy was down to a top two of Maryland and Pitt before deciding to stay at home and continue his career with the Panthers.
