Bright commits to Pitt: Pitt received a commitment from Bright on Sunday, June 5th of 2016 following a prospect camp at Pitt's practice facilities in Pittsburgh's South Side. Bright choose Pitt over offers from schools like Bowling Green and Miami (Ohio). At the time, he was playing at North Ridgeville (Ohio), but has since moved to Montgomery (Ala.) Park Crossing.

In his words: “I just decided it was the best thing for me,” Bright said. “And sitting down with Coach Narduzzi after the camp, after speaking with him, they showed a lot more love and they really wanted me there even more after camp. It was great feedback that I got." Read his full comments on his commitment at this link.

Bright's impact: "Bright... is virtually always around the ball. He is an aggressive young linebacker who is reacting to plays and closing ground rapidly as needed...Bright is an explosive athlete who can run stride-for-stride with many running backs and receivers that will make it to the Division I ranks. That ability to cover ground and move in space will be well-suited at the STAR position he looks to fill in college." Read the Film Room Friday breakdown of Bright at this link.

On his senior season: “I just stay in the weight room, pray before every game, go out and perform,” Bright said. “I use my speed to an advantage. Teams have been using half-backs, wing-backs and that kind of thing to double-team me, but it doesn’t really work too well.”

His coach's thoughts: “I’m very familiar with Coach Narduzzi’s defense and I think he’ll be great at that spot,” [Bright's high school coach] said. “Some schools asked, ‘Is he big enough to play linebacker or is he quick enough to play safety?’ And the answer is a hybrid outside linebacker/safety like they have in that defense. He’ll be perfect for that spot. He's got a great knowledge of the game of football and he's just a physical specimen."
