Four-star wide receiver Carmoni Green of Miami (Fla.) says he plans to take an official visit to Pitt as his August 25th commitment date rapidly approaches. Check out Green's comments on Pitt and his recruitment
Standout Miami (Fla.) Miami Central wide receiver Carmoni Green has become one of the most intriguing prospects at his position in the class of 2017. Despite the fact that the 6-foot-1, 178-pound has multiple Power Five offers under his belt, Green feels under-offered and under the radar. Green is rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals.com and could be in contention for the Rivals250 by the time he graduates.
“I’m going to bring hard work and a lot of speed to any team that I choose. I want to work hard and play some really big-time football. I also want to do well in the classroom and in my studies and be a role model in that program,” Green said. “I’ve been working hard to get ready for college this year and I’m going to be a leader and captain of my team. I want to catch 50 balls and get at least 1,000 yards and I want to help us be one of the best teams in the nation. My coaches are expecting a lot from me as a senior.”
Green’s offer list currently includes local schools like USF, UCF, FAU, and FIU, as well as programs from across the country like Pittsburgh, Utah, Illinois, Oregon State, and Toledo. Green recently narrowed his list down to a top five (in no order) of Illinois, Oregon State, Pittsburgh, UCF, and Utah and plans to make a commitment in the near future – albeit a tentative one.
“I’ll commit on August 25th to a school, but I’m still going to take my official visits. I know for sure that I’m going to take officials to three schools: Illinois, Pitt, and Oregon State. I’m going to be committed, but I’ll still be open to the schools I take visits to,” Green said. “Plus, if other schools were to offer, I’d have to consider them too. But the commitment that I make now will be about whichever school that I feel the most comfortable at.”
