Chryst lands a safety for the class of 2014

Pitt added a second recruit to the 2014 class on Friday when Newburgh (NY) Free Academy safety Jalen Williams committed to the Panthers while on an unofficial visit to Pittsburgh.
Williams chose Pitt over offers from Syracuse, Temple, Buffalo, UMass, and Old Dominion, and he was also hearing from Penn State, Rutgers, Georgia Tech and N.C. State. At 6'2" 180, he projects as a safety in college despite playing multiple positions for Newburgh Free Academy.

Williams picked up his Pitt offer after making a spring visit, and he returned on Thursday and Friday to work out with the coaches and tour the campus.
A three-star recruit, Williams is ranked as the No. 6 prospect in the state of New York by Rivals.com. He is Pitt's second commitment in the class, joining Traverse City (Mich.) offensive lineman Connor Hayes.
