Pitt added their 16th commitment of the 2018 recruiting class on Monday, flipping West Palm Beach (Fla.) Oxbridge Academy cornerback V'Lique Carter from the Iowa State Cyclones after an official visit to Pittsburgh over the weekend. Carter also gathered offers from programs like Oklahoma, Colorado, Kentucky, Purdue, UCF, and other programs before making his decision.

Carter is a 5-foot-10, 165-pound prospect who's rated as a three-star by Rivals.com as a safety prospect. He joins Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic product and cornerback Judson Tallandier and fellow Floridian Marquis Williams, who plays at Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons, in committing to Pitt's class in the defensive secondary. All three prospects are expected to sign on Wednesday, December 20th.

The commitment will give Pitt an additional 75 points in the 2018 Rivals.com team recruiting rankings, boosting Pitt from 1200 points to 1275 points. Pitt had been at the 48th spot in the recruiting rankings prior to the flip, but the addition of Carter will move Pitt into a tie at 42nd. Pitt is tied with Iowa and the flip vaults them ahead of multiple Power Five programs: Florida, Rutgers, and conference foe Wake Forest.
