Pitt’s 2017 NFL Draft came to a conclusion Saturday afternoon with a pair of late-round picks.

Offensive tackle Adam Bisnowaty went to the New York Giants with the 16th pick of the sixth round (No. 200 overall) while the Los Angeles Rams used the 16th pick of the seventh round (No. 234 overall) to take defensive end Ejuan Price.

Bisnowaty and Price bring Pitt’s total in the 2017 draft to five players, joining James Conner (Pittsburgh Steelers, No. 105 overall), Dorian Johnson (Arizona Cardinals, No. 115 overall) and Nate Peterman (Buffalo Bills, No. 171 overall).

That’s the most Pitt players taken in one draft since six Panthers were drafted in 2004.

The Giants traded up to take Bisnowaty, a former four-star prospect from Fox Chapel who started 43 games over the last four years. He was a two-time All-ACC first team selection by the conference coaches, making the cut in 2015 and 2016.

Price overcame multiple injuries during his time at Pitt to become one of the school’s all-time leaders in sacks. For his career, Price recorded 29.5 sacks - 24.5 of which came in the last two seasons. Those two years of productivity came after repeated lost time due to injuries that cost him all of the 2012 and 2014 seasons as well as limiting him to just six games in 2013.

But he more than made up for it in 2015 and 2016, earning first-team All-ACC honors in both seasons and being named a consensus second-team All-American this past year.

Price joins former defensive line mate Aaron Donald in Los Angeles. He is the first Pitt defensive end to be drafted since Jabaal Sheard and Greg Romeus were selected in 2011.
