No Saddler for Saturday's game

TAMPA, Fla. - Pitt redshirt senior receiver Cameron Saddler did not make the trip to Tampa for the Panthers' game against South Florida Saturday, Pitt announced prior to the game.

According to a Pitt spokesperson, Saddler stayed in Pittsburgh due to "disciplinary reasons."

The South Florida game would have been the final regular-season game of Saddler's career at Pitt. He joined the Panthers in 2008 as a four-star recruit from Gateway High School in Monroeville. After redshirting, Saddler served as a third receiver and return specialist.

He caught 10 passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns in 2009 and 2010 combined, and pulled in 19 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown last year before suffering a season-ending injury in the eighth game.

This season, Saddler caught 16 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown. He also averaged 7.4 yards per punt return and registered a long return of 31 yards.

If Pitt (5-6) beats South Florida (3-8) Saturday night, the Panthers will be bowl eligible.
