Greentree review: The stats breakdown

The 2012 season of the Pittsburgh Basketball Club Summer Pro-Am kicked off Monday night in Greentree, and not surprisingly, Pitt players were among the statistical leaders on the first night out.

Pitt redshirt junior Lamar Patterson started the night off with arguably the evening's best performance scoring 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting (56.3%), including a 4-of-7 mark from three-point range (57%), and grabbing eight rebounds.

Sharing the court with Patterson on the PGT squad was Pitt freshman Steven Adams, whose Pittsburgh basketball debut saw him grab a league-high 18 rebounds and also dish out three assists.

Transfer guard Trey Zeigler also played for PGT with Adams and Patterson, but his night was quieter with just five points on 2-of-8 shooting, although he did grab six rebounds.

The night's top scorer was Duquesne freshman Derrick Colter, who dropped 29 points on 11-of-22 shooting in an 84-82 win over the "alumni" team in game two. That game also featured the night's only double-double, an 18-point/11-rebound performance from former Pitt star Chevon Troutman. Troutman's teammates and fellow Pitt alums John DeGroat scored 21 and Keith Benjamin had 20 in that game.
