Fashaw looking for more interest

The offers haven't arrived yet but interest has certainly picked up for Fashaw, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound tight end from Miami (Fla.) Northwestern. Tennessee and LSU have recently gotten more involved and Central Florida is also seriously in the mix.

"Things are starting to pick up," Fashaw said. "That's what I expected and that's what I like right now. Hopefully the offers will start pouring in next week or the week after that. We play Miami Central I believe on ESPN so after that game that's when everything will start rolling."

Boston College had been showing a good deal of interest but it seems like the Eagles may have backed off a little bit. Still, Fashaw, who said all summer he'd like to take an official visit to Chestnut Hill, said he's still interested in hearing from the BC staff.

"I don't speak with anybody," Fashaw said. "I did call coach Ryan Day and I left him a message and sent him a text once recruiting started after September 1. I called and texted and left a message. I don't get any calls back.

"There is no type of relationship right now, I'm not really talking to them, but they haven't taken back their offer yet or anything like that. I still have an offer so it's something I'll always look at but if I get more offers it will probably go out the window."

Fashaw, who played at Miami Monsignor Pace last season, said the Volunteers have really stepped up their interest recently and are pushing for him to visit this weekend when they host UCLA. LSU could also make a push and Fashaw is being recruited to the Tigers by former BC assistant Don Yanowsky.

"The people that have been really hard on me right now have been Tennessee, LSU and UCF," Fashaw said. "Tennessee wants me to come up this weekend when they play UCLA for that game. I'm not sure what I'm going to do as far as official visits.

"LSU is showing a lot of interest. I've been talking to them. (Yanowsky) called me two days in a row, he talked to me and he's trying to get me up there for an official visit as well to visit their campus and to see a game."

Fashaw said he has "high interest" in Tennessee but it has not offered yet. Central Florida also looks like a viable option. He has an offer there but probably won't take an official visit to UCF because it's so close to home. A trip there sometime this fall will be planned though.

"UCF is another school I have high interest in," Fashaw said. "I probably won't use one of my official visits to UCF. I'll probably just show up on campus and go to one of their games this fall."
