Bruins in the hunt for five-star

Five-star strong side defensive end J.R. Ferguson has scholarship offers from just about every corner of the country and he lives near some of the top programs in the Division I category, so is it really possible that the Rivals.com five-star performer would be interested in a West Coast school that is located at the opposite end of the United States?

It appears that the answer is yes and Ferguson told BruinBlitz.com why. In fact, even though the 6-foot-3, 272-pound Ferguson doesn't name a favorite, the UCLA Bruins appear to have a solid chance at this superstar.

"I have interest on the West Coast; location doesn't matter to me," said Ferguson, who is from Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy. "I visited there a little while ago and I got a real feel for the campus. I got a chance to sit down with (defensive line) coach (Todd) Howard, a fine coach, and I really liked what he talked about. I got a chance with the head coach, too."
