Florida one of many to visit Newton

Although they currently have three quarterbacks on the roster who were ranked in the Rivals100 coming out of high school, including reigning Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, in a perfect world Florida would like to add a top notch quarterback in each class.

With limited numbers this year, along with what is already on hand, there are greater priorities than landing a quarterback, but that doesn't mean that Meyer and Company aren't trying.

A week ago they lost out on the top target at the position when Tampa (Fla.) Plant signal caller Aaron Murray committed to Georgia.

They have now turned their attention northward.

Florida Offensive Coordinator Dan Mullen recently visited Carmel (Ind.) High School - the home of quarterback Morgan Newton.
