Rod: Brown was set to enter game

SYRACUSE, N.Y.-Sometimes, in coaching, it works this way. Just before quarterback Pat White went down in the third quarter with an injury, head coach Rich Rodriguez had decided to go with the "kid" on the next series.

The "kid," in this instance, was Jarrett Brown, who for the second week in a row, mopped up for White.

This time the result was more pleasing as WVU pummeled a problematic Syracuse squad 55-14. It was the Mountaineers' sixth straight SU victory, dating back to Rod's second year ('02). This is the longest positive skein in the old rivalry, though 'Cuse still leads it 30-25.
