Early bird catches touchdown passes

Redlands (Calif.) East Valley wide receiver Chris Polk has a knack for being early.

After earning a scholarship offer from USC in February, Polk decided to end the recruiting process early by announcing his commitment to the Trojans later that month. The early bird catches the worm, and in Polk's case, a lot of touchdown passes.

As a sophomore, Polk caught 64 passes for 764 yards and eight touchdowns. As a junior, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound all-state selection was nothing short of prolific. Catching 62 passes, Polk accumulated 1,164 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns - adding another 11 scores rushing.
