Ohio LB returns from visit to State

It is another great year for high school football talent in the state Ohio and Spartan head Coach Mark Dantonio and his staff hope to capitalize on that. One of the schools that has a host of high-level prospects this year is Dublin-Coffman High School. Linebacker Steve Gardiner is one of several impressive recruits from there and the 6-foot-1, 205-pound linebacker was recently in East Lansing checking out a Spartan spring practice.

Last fall Gardiner helped Dublin-Coffman High school to a 9-4 season. He played both linebacker and running back for the Shamrocks.

Gardiner already has two scholarships on the table. He was offered by Miami of Ohio first and then the West Virginia Mountaineers followed that up with and offer when he attended their spring game. In addition to Michigan State, West Virginia and Miami, Gardiner is hearing from several other programs, including Ohio State, Tennessee, Louisville, Northwestern, Indiana and Cincinnati.
