Long journey takes Clarence Ward to Tucson

It's been a whirlwind of a football career for 6-foot-0, 190-pound cornerback Clarence Ward. The Santa Rosa Junior College cornerback is committed to play football for the Wildcats starting in the 2008 season, which could be the final stop in what has been a tumultuous journey.

As a four-star prospect at La Marque (Texas), Ward picked up offers from schools such as LSU, Florida State, Alabama, Texas A&M, UCLA, Mississippi and Oklahoma. Before his senior season, he made an early commitment to LSU and was named the Texas Football Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
