Is Melancon Done With Other Visits?

This week started off with a bang for the Vols as Phillip Fulmer got the news that his program had landed one commitment at a need position from Louisiana defensive tackle Rolando Melancon. That surely helped ease any post-holiday blues that the staff might have been feeling, but Melancon says this week that the Volunteers never really had anything to worry about.

Melancon (6-foot-2, 260 pounds, 4.78 40-yard dash) became the second four-star defensive tackle commitment that the Vols have snared in this class (along with Donald Langley) when he called the Tennessee staff over the holidays to commit. In doing so, he made good on a prediction he made a couple of weeks ago when he indicated to us that he might just give Phillip Fulmer a Christmas present of sorts.
