Griffin hopes to add to UW running back tradition

In the past few years, UW's rushing game has become listless and mediocre. This year was no exception, with UW finishing last in the Pac-10 in total scoring offense and sixth in the league in rushing offense.

Coming into the season, expectations were high for the UW running tandem of Louis Rankin and Kenny James. However, the duo failed to live up to the hype, with each back failing to become a top 10 rusher in the Pac-10. James played through an injury plagued season and Rankin, while showing signs of brilliance at times, could not get the job done in James' absence. To further complicate matters, James was a senior this year and Rankin will be a senior next year.
