Texas tidbits: The SEC shift

While most SEC schools relatively keep their recruiting focus inside the Southeast, Texas has been a state that schools from that conference have cherry picked over the years. However, in the class of 2007, things may be changing.

Since the 2002 class, the SEC schools total count of Texas commitments has increased steadily from a low total of 12 for the whole conference to a high of 20 in last year's 2006 class. This year, only three Texas prospects are committed to SEC schools, so it appears that the trend may be changing.
