Maryland tight end would like to visit USC

Rockville, Md., Good Counsel tight end Danny Parker is one of the better prospects in the state of Maryland's class of 2007, and he currently has nine scholarship offers to his credit.

"The offers I have are from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Duke, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, Marshall and Miami of Ohio," the 6-foot-4.5, 232-pound Parker said. "I also like NC State, but they haven't offered me yet."

Parker, who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds, recently visited North Carolina, and the Tar Heels represent his most recent offer.

"North Carolina has a beautiful campus," he said. "I liked it there a good bit. Their coaches think they will contend for an ACC championship in the near future. They let me know I had an offer while I was on the visit."
