The secret is out

The Oregon State Football Camp's reputation has finally caught up. For years other Pac-10 programs didn't have contact team camps or make an effort to kids of all ages and skills. The feedback from parents and athletes is extremely positive at the OSU camp because the kids receive attention. This reputation goes back from the Mike Riley years through the Dennis Erickson era. Quality coaching, strong operations staff and outstanding press have finally done the unthinkable…

This years camp was the most popular in Beaver History. Over 1,100 kids signed up for the region's most popular team football camp. There were over a half dozen high school teams included in this number. Olympia, Capital, and Hudson's Bay were some of the strongest programs. Other schools sent six or seven athletes such as Kauai High School in Hawaii. Hundreds of individual campers arrived with the goal of improving their skills.

Athletes came from Canada, Hawaii, California, Montana, Arizona, Nevada, and they were treated to two days of 80-90 degree sunshine. These athletes and their families are happy that they can eat, practice, play, and relax within the safety of the OSU Campus.

The dorms (where the athletes eat and sleep) are close in proximity to the Indoor Practice facility, the Tommy Prothro practice field, and the Intramural fields. Many of the young Pop-Warner kids have an opportunity to practice at Reser Stadium which stands next to all of the action. There aren't many situations that are better for a football camp, and that's a primary reason it grew more than twice in size since last year.
