Terence Kerns wows MdVarsity.com Jamboree

FREDERICK, Md.--From the looks of it, West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez has recruited as a complete a high school back as, well, ever, in Terence Kerns (he spells his first name with just one R).

WVU has recruited several outstanding running backs during Rod's career as the head coach. The previous staff lined up Avon Cobourne and Quincy Wilson, a couple of All-Big East rushers who continue to play for pay on the next level. Obviously Jason Gwaltney, a 5-star, was a coup. Steve Slaton was a 3-star running back who may rewrite the Mountaineer rushing records before he is through.

But for pure athleticism and at his age (16), Terence may provide the best combination of speed and power of any prospect heading to Morgantown under the current staff. Kerns, who committed to the Mountaineers over interest from Maryland and Florida State in late April, was on display Saturday at the annual MdVarsity.com Passing Jamboree at Tuscarora High.
