Davis felt at home

Austin Davis was one of the two junior prospects that verbally committed to Duke over the weekend and it came down to the simple fact that he felt at home in Durham. Devils Illustrated caught up with his father, who made the trip with Davis, early this weekend.

Davis, a 6-foot-5, 295-pound offensive lineman, has been playing center since his eighth grade year. He has started at the position on the varsity team at his high school for the past couple of seasons and Duke wants him to play center in college. Not too many pure center prospects receive scholarships so that's a testament to the Mansfield (Tex.) lineman's ability.
