Eagles high on junior's list

Kyle Queiro made his second trip to Boston College last Thursday for its game against Florida State and while the Eagles lost handily the 2013 athlete from Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic said he still has lots of interest in BC.

Queiro, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound prospect, attended camp at Boston College last summer and this was his first time going to Chestnut Hill for a game. Even though the Eagles lost - to drop them to 2-7 on the season - Queiro said Boston College will remain high on his list.

"I've already been up to the camp and I saw most of the facilities, the weight room, the locker room and that was pretty much impressive," Queiro said. "We saw the game and we spoke to a few coaches, too.

"(BC's season is) not that big of a deal to me because like their coaches said it's basically freshmen and sophomores playing defensively. They said they're headed in the right direction and that it's a building process for them so it's not that big of a deal to me."

Queiro said he has "a good interest level" in Boston College and during his conversations with the Eagles' coaches they have talked about an offer but nothing official yet probably because he's still in his junior season.

Many other programs are getting involved in Queiro's recruitment so he's just taking things slowly and learning more about all the colleges recruiting him at this point.

"I have a good interest level in (Boston College) because they're interested in me," Queiro said.

"When we went up there they talked about an offer and they said they're interested in me but it wasn't a full-fledged conversation about anything yet."

There stands to be a lot of competition for Queiro, who said he's also hearing from Wisconsin, Stanford, Miami, Florida, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, Penn State, Rutgers and Connecticut.

He said other than Boston College recruiting him hard he's mainly hearing from Miami and Penn State and is still open to all programs.
