CB Jones Verbals Wyoming
The Wyoming football program received their 25th commitment over the weekend when cornerback DeAndre Jones verballed the Cowboys with signing day three days away.
The Texas product is a 6-foot and 185 pound defensive back from Harker Heights High School in Texas. He'll bring the Cowboys a prospect with good speed and athleticism, as he was clocked at better than a 4.5 yard forty-dash.
The Cowboys had Jones in for a visit this weekend, as he was one of four defensive backs in the mix for the final scholarship. Jones was the top prospect out of the group and told the Cowboys coaches he would accept the scholarship before his visit. Nothing changed following his visit to Laramie.
Jones fills the void after Illinois defensive back Demarius Reed decommitted from the Pokes last week and ended at Eastern Michigan in the MAC.
Jones played multiple positions in high school at wide receiver, running back, and defensive back and was evaluated for each position by college recruiters.
He received interest from the Cowboys, Army, UTEP, and Montana State was in the mix.
National signing day is this Wednesday, February 2nd.
