New commit for Army?
As Army prepares to visit Tulane this weekend, it will also represent the mid-point of the season, which is also an indicator for many prospects that the recruiting process is heating up. That could range from narrowing the list of schools, making unofficial visits to check out various college games and of course, the ultimate goal of making the college decision.
One player who appears to be ready to pull the yes lever is strong safety Duran Workman. BlackKnights.com caught up with Workman to discuss his recent thoughts on Arm, along with his 2010 season.
Although the 6-foot-195 pound prospect has an offer from VMI
the Black Knights have been in the lead for his talents for some time now.
"Army it is the top on my list right now," said Workman, who will be one of several recruits in attendance when the Black Knights host Air Force on November 6th.
"I'm on the verge of committing. I just want to make sure it the right thing, because there's a lot that goes into West Point. So I just got to make sure it's right for me.
I think the game when Army plays Air Force game visit I will have a solid idea what I'm going to do after that visit."
Workman, who is out of Saint Albans (W. Va) George Washington is being recruited at Army by offensive line coach Gene McKeehan. "I spoke to him this weekend, where we just talked about their game against Temple and my upcoming game."" declares Workman, who has been getting an eye on Army's season.
"I've watched every game except the Duke game. The Temple game they played well, they a little bit of trouble on defense covering the best and gave up some points that way, but it was a good game."
For Workman and his teammates, they are off to a 6-0 and ranked number one in the state in both polls.
Although he suffered a separated shoulder that occurred just before the first game of the season, Workman already has 3 interceptions to his credit.
He is being recruited at Army as a strong safety or Rover as it's called in the Black Knights' system.
