A decision soon

The Pitt coaching staff currently has verbal commitments from 19 prospects and has a limited number to give with a small number of seniors scheduled to graduate this spring. One player the coaching staff continues to pursue is Central Catholic's Andrew Taglianetti (5' 11" 175).

This past season Taglianetti helped Pittsburgh Central Catholic to a perfect 16-0 record and a Class AAAA state championship.

Taglianetti often played both ways for the Vikings. On offense he was used as a running back and wide receiver. He rushed for 1,161 yards on 103 carries. He caught passes for another 420 yards and scored 17 touchdowns in total.

He was a first team Class AAAA all-state pick as a defensive back.

He was also recognized for his accomplishments in his senior year by being named to the Pittsburgh Tribune's Reviews Terrific 25. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette made him their WPIAL Class AAAA Player of the Year.

Taglianetti was also recently selected to play in the Big 33 game in Hershey this June.
