Lee in action
Brenham, Texas, quarterback Jarrett Lee has shattered numerous records in his high school career, racked up victory after victory and helped his team to a 9-1 regular season. But he can now add another impressive bullet point to an already impressive r?m? All-American.
Lee, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound four-star prospect, has been selected to play in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl. Lee, the No. 7 pro-style quarterback prospect, joins Arkansas quarterback Kodi Burns and California quarterback Aaron Corp as the three signal-callers for the West squad.
Lee, an LSU commitment, says he's never been to Florida. However, he does have some expectations of what it's going to be like for the Jan. 4 game in Fort Lauderdale.
"When you think of Florida, you know there will be great weather," he said. "It'll be a good time for sure. I'm definitely looking forward to going and seeing how I stack up against the other great athletes in the country. Hopefully I'm going to show my leadership and poise on ESPNU. We don't get a whole lot of games on national television down here, so you have to play well when you get the opportunity."
Lee is also excited about getting an opportunity to hook up again with Corp. The two bonded at the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp earlier this summer.
"Aaron's a great guy and a great quarterback," Lee said. "It'll be fun to be around him again."
Lee has been a longtime LSU commitment. He said he remains 100 percent solid on his choice, despite persistent rumors that he might be looking around at other schools.
"When we took the visit to LSU during the spring, there was something about it that made me realize that it was the right place for me," he said. "It's not that far from home ? it's only four hours away. Everything else from the coaching staff, to the academics and to the facilities were amazing. I came back and talked to my parents and decided to go ahead and commit.
"Since then the phone has definitely stopped ringing. I get a few text messages here and there and some letters, but I'm one of those guys that says 'If I made a commitment, I'm going to stick with it.' I'm definitely going to LSU."
