November 26, 2012The Pitt football team experienced some attrition Monday, as the University announced that one player has been dismissed and two others are transferring.
Redshirt freshman safety Steve Williams was dismissed from the team for disciplinary reasons following an arrest stemming from an alleged domestic incident over the weekend. Pitt also announced that redshirt freshman linebacker Jason Frimpong and redshirt freshman safety Roderick Ryles have left the team and have been given permission to transfer.
None of those three players ever appeared in a game at Pitt. Williams dealt with injuries over the last two years, while Frimpong and Ryles never climbed the depth chart.
Williams is a native of Savannah (Ga.), Frimpong is from Irving (Tex.), and Ryles is from Orlando. They were part of the recruiting class of 2011, which was Todd Graham's only class of prospects while head coach at Pitt.
Of that recruiting class, just 12 players remain on the Panthers' roster following Monday's announcement. And two of those 12 - quarterback Trey Anderson and linebacker Ejuan Price - were mid-summer additions to the class.
