Still two on Williams' mind
Earlier in August, Fairless Hills (Pa.) Pennsbury wide receiver Eric Williams said he had narrowed his focus to two schools -- Pittsburgh and Temple.
With September and the start of his senior season at Pennsbury rapidly approaching, Williams recently confirmed that everything has held firm on the recruiting from. The Panthers and Owls are still out in front, though he might visit other schools.
"It's still pretty much the same," the 6-foot-3, 210-pound receiver said. "I'm pretty much gonna hold off on everything for a little bit, just to see how everything goes. After a little while I'll take some officials.
"I'm definitely going to be taking one (visit) to Pitt and one to Temple. I'll go to those two places for sure and then maybe some others."
What is it about Pitt and Temple that Williams likes?
"Just the coaching staffs. I feel most comfortable with their coaching staffs so far. Both have great programs, you know. Great academics, too."
Williams said he is unsure of when a decision will come but stressed he does not want to rush things.
Pennsbury had their first scrimmage earlier Saturday morning and according to Williams -- and the stat sheet -- things went very well.
"We did awesome," Williams reported. "I had an interception that I returned for like 60 yards, I had a touchdown, I had like 70 yards receiving and eight tackles. I did pretty solid. I feel like our whole offense and defense did well."
