Merced athlete gets huge offer
Going into the recruiting process tight end/wide receiver/linebacker Kenneth Cooper (6-5, 245, 4.5) from Merced, Calif., was one of the Golden State's most intriguing prospects. His athleticism and versatility is his drawing card. Just yesterday, Cooper picked up a huge offer all the east coast to see his offers climb to six.
"Kenny was offered by the University of Miami, Fla., last night via mail," Merced coach Rob Scheidt said. "I have been in conversation with the University of Maryland as well and Maryland has requested film on him and his transcripts."
That the Hurricanes are coming all the way from talent laden, South Florida, speaks volumes of Cooper's ability. The Miami area is one of the most bountiful areas for football talent in the nation.
The Miami Hurricanes join Arizona, Arizona State, Washington State, Colorado and Nebraska as schools that have offered him a scholie.
