Nunez keeping options open

At 6-foot-3 and 232 pounds, defensive end Bernardo Nunez has the frame and speed that college coaches look for in a pass-rusher.

The three-star prospect from Hoboken, New Jersey has offers from schools all across the country so narrowing things down has been difficult.

Just a few days ago Nunez said he had a top three of Maryland, Pitt and Oklahoma. While those schools are in a great position with Nunez, on Sunday he said a few other schools are also in that group at the top of his list.

"I don't know that it's so much just about those three," Nunez said. "I guess you could say there are some others in there too, like East Carolina, NC State and Virginia."

Nunez has an official visit to Maryland set for November 22. He has not yet set up any other official visits but said he would probably end up taking four in all, most of which will come after the season.

He had thought about attending the Oklahoma-Texas rivalry game in Dallas on Saturday, but said he would prefer to wait for an opportunity to take an official visit to Norman so he can check out the campus and academic side of things.

"I'd like to visit some schools down south," Nunez continued. "I'd like to visit East Carolina or NC State -- schools like that. I definitely want to visit Pittsburgh, too. I'll probably head there sometime in December."

Nunez has helped Hoboken get things rolling recently with three consecutive wins.
