Custis has a favorite
After reporting a list of his top schools one week ago, three-star defensive end Davon Custis now has a leader sitting atop his pile of 15 scholarship offers.
Northwestern, Indiana, Michigan State and Wisconsin were all among the favorites listed, but Boston College, according to Custis, is the new leader at this point.
"B.C. (Boston College) is the leader right now," Custis told BadgerBlitz.com Tuesday night. "I just really like everything about them."
The Columbus (OH) DeSales prospect plans on making his decision around Christmas, however, meaning there is plenty of times for other schools, such as UW, to make a final push to land his services.
"Things could change," he said. "There's a lot of time left."
Though he has not visited Wisconsin, Custis plans on making a trip to Madison in the coming weeks.
"Basically it's (Wisconsin) located in a good sports town and I like that a lot," said the 6-foot-5, 220-pounder. "The campus seems like it's very beautiful and the coaching staff really makes it seem like a good school to check out, so I'm looking to do that.
"Coach (Joe) Rudolph and I haven't talked in about a month, but I like the things he's told me about the school in the past. They have good academics and that is also very important to me."
Custis reports a 3.7 GPA and is looking to improve on a 12-1 junior season in which his team fell in the third round of the playoffs.
Wisconsin already has a verbal commitment from 2009 defensive end prospect Shelby Harris.
