Jabari Parker, family enjoy official visit to Michigan State
As far as business trips go, the one that Jabari Parker took with his parents this past weekend was a good one.
After driving about four hours from Chicago to East Lansing last Friday, the Parkers arrived at Michigan State and stayed until early Sunday afternoon during the first of five official campus visits.
It wasn't a home football weekend, but that wasn't important to Parker - a good student and highly coveted 6-foot-8, 220-pound small forward ranked as the No.2 overall senior in the Rivals150. This trip was largely about the school, campus, basketball program and just getting to know more about the MSU community.
"Mostly we were just concerned what they had to offer as far as the academics, what classes he'd be taking and his living situation
things like that," said Sonny Parker, Jabari's father and a former NBA player. "They showed us around the campus and we got to see all the facilities."
