Eastmoor (Columbus, Oh.) three-star athlete Devon Edwards is being recruited for his skills as both a defensive end and a tight end by colleges, but it's his talents on the defensive side that caught the eye of the West Virginia coaching staff and earned him his first scholarship offer.

Edwards, 6-foot-5, 230-pounds, picked up the offer from the Mountaineers around a month ago, after speaking with lead recruiter and assistant head coach Steve Dunlap.

"He offered me on the phone. I was shocked because I hadn't been talking to West Virginia so it was a surprise, but I was excited," he said.
