Demhasaj set to visit USF, Pitt

Garden City (N.Y.) Nassau C.C. offensive tackle Zenel Demhasaj has worked hard to get back into shape after tearing his ACL earlier this year.

This week the 6-foot-7, 320-pound prospect will be taking two official visits.

Official visits are normally key events for a prospect in the recruiting process, but in Demhasaj's case, these visits are as much for the coaches as they are for him.

"I'm going down to USF on an official visit tomorrow for two days and then on Thursday and Friday of this week I'm going to Pitt," Demhasaj said on Sunday afternoon.

"I think the only reason they haven't offered me yet is because I tore my ACL and had surgery. They want to check me out and make sure I'm healing properly. I'm guessing when I go down tomorrow they'll offer me."

Demhasaj said he was hearing a good bit from Rutgers back in November, and he even visited the school during the weekend of their game against Syracuse.

"That was an unofficial visit," he recalled. "I spoke with one of their coaches and they showed me the whole place, but I haven't really talked to them since then. I don't know what happened, really. I guess they lost interest."

Demhasaj had also been entertaining interest from schools like Buffalo and Memphis, but he told the coaches at those schools that he is interested in playing in the Big East.
